"I don't eat meat for a while," declared hubby.
The day before yesterday, in the midnight, he felt dizzy due to the high blood pressure.
Reading of 140/100 is not serious but bad enough to make him depressed.
OK. Then I made a Japanese cuisine without meat.
Pumpkin is rich in Kalium or potassium in English, which is good for hypertension.
I prepared kiwi fruit for dessert that was also rich in Kalium.
Beer? Of course not. It may be more difficult for him to keep away from booze than meat, I guess. (wry smile)

Hi~angel san
I have high blood pressure.
I have had health checks at local health center after age 40.
5 years ago my blood pressure was amaging value. 205/124 (>_<)
so I saw a doctor and still now I have the medicine.
recently we eat fish more than before.
[iwashi sawara aji etc.]

205/124 is quite high and serious.
I'm sure you need medication.
Hubby's parents are both suffered from hypertension, so I guess it is somehow related to genetics and family history. However it might be helpful to be aware of good diet in daily life.
I love iwashi, sawara and aji.(*^.^*)
The American diet is soaked in salt so hypertension is akin to an epidemic here. I think every other person is on medication for it. I am one of the VERY few lucky ones. I have low blood pressure (not too low, though). Good luck with the food changes. Hope all goes well.
Fish is always better than meat! Good job

I also have low blood pressure (not too low either, though).
Hypertension is one of the major life-style related diseases in Japan. Many people suffer from it. I believe that diet change is better than medication to solve the problem.

Fortunately we live fish, so the challenge is not too difficult for us, I hope... The problem is booze. (laugh)
What kind of fish do you like most? I like pike a lot by the way, and I was curious what do you enjoy most :)
>Solicitors Slough
Pike is tasty! I love both see and river fish. Hubby like river fishing and thus we often eat chars at this time of year. I like grilled char best.
Sea bream is another fish I like.
We will have mackerel for dinner today though. :)
All this talk about fish is making me hungry and it isn't even 8 o'clock in the morning here. LOL!
>Peruby
So what kind of fish do you eat for lunch or dinner?
I have not been brave enough to try to fix fish, yet. My Mom hated fish so I was never exposed to it until I began going to nicer restaurants.
When I am out, I love orange roughy, whitefish and salmon. I had some walleye a few weeks back but it just didn't do much for me. I also like tilapia and sole with lemon butter sauce.
The over-fishing of orange roughy bothers me, though - so I only eat this once every few years.

I'm not good at fixing fish either although I love eating it.
I love salmon and white fish, too, but I don't have many opportunities to eat orange roughy. Lemon butter sauce sounds really tasty!
yummy, you must be a wonderful cook

Thank you! Your words really made me happy. Although I'm not good at expressing myself in English, I will keep on doing it.
Please don't say you are not good at expressing yourself in English, as that's totally untrue! You have more style and personality than so many native speakers!
