We Pull Through...

It is 2 weeks since we experienced a devastating megaquake followed by a big tsunami in the northeastern Japan. Still aftershocks on and off... Worries over the leakage of radioactive materials are growing due to the damaged Fukushima No. 1 plant.

We have to cope with the challenge we are now facing. We have to pull through this difficult situation.
Can we make it? Then I remember we Japanese got through a very severe situation in the past.

After completely defeated by World War II, it seemed to be almost impossible for Japan to recover and re-stabilize her economy to the same level of the pre-war years. However owing to a special procurement boom brought by the Korean War that broke out in 1950, Japan had a chance to make a dramatically rapid growth 1955-73 later called the EAST Asian Miracle despite the popular belief that sustainable growth after the procurement boom was skeptical. In those days we got together looking at the same direction.

Now we should make another Eastern Asian Miracle! We are a nation of people with persistency and diligence, aren't we? I hope, pray, and believe that we will surely be able to get over this crisis because more than 100 countries in the world are strongly supporting us with lots of love this time.

I would like you bloggers to know that the disaster-stricken areas were such beautiful places before the catastrophe. Sorry captions are all in Japanese.

Pray for those innocent victims

I just watched the video and while it brought tears to my eyes it also gave me inspiration. The Japanese will forge a better life from this.

Glad to hear such a warm-hearted words. It was indeed an unprecedented disaster, but there's at least one good aspect of it we might find, which is the fact that lots of and lots of people all over the world are supporting us. Thank you!

It is 69 days since the earthquake. Still things are not so easy unfortunately. With little disclosure from TEPCO and the government, the invisible fear of radiation is increasing among the nation. The problem is very serious.
